Rave Reviews of World Premiere, Silent Honor, Choreographed by Director Miya Hisaka

-FINDING MEANNG THROUGH THE LANGUAGE OF DANCE-

Founder/Artistic Director, Miya Hisaka, premiered her new work entitled, Silent Honor, on March 27,2012 at the Atlas Lang Theatre. The 3 part dance video documentary was performed by a mixed cast of 20 members from El Teatro de Danza Contemporanea de El Salvador and The Classical Repertory Dance Theatre (the Resident Ballet Company at Joy of Motion Dance Center)  to a sold out audience as part of CRDT’s 2012 Spring Season,  Hisaka’s new work was created to honor the thousands of victims lost in 2011′s Tonoko earthquake and Tsnami in Japan. As noted by the critics, this powerful and poetic work brought their audience to tears…. “Though Silent Honor set out to convey honor, reflection, and respect for those who suffered last year in Japan. It more than communicated this theme…a broader and inspiring message radiated loud and clear as well. The sum of the graceful arms, precise en pointe feet, the lifts and turn..and the expression of joy on the dancers’ faces that was articulated in even their smallest movements…the emotional gravitas so obvious that I found myself moved to tears…” -The Pink Line Project-
